Agreed, its time like this you realise we are at the mercy of subjective opinion on vague and ambigous criteria.
The Statement about us will go something like :-
Halifax RLFC has made great strides on and off the field, they have made 2 grand finals and are the current champions, added to this their infrastructure now includes youth development, a completed main stand, with excellent match day facilities, the club has also increased its community work and the club is marketed well as a whole. Halifax RLFC also meets the minimum criteria for attendances.
However, even though the Stadiums main stand is complete, there is still work to be done to complete the groud fully, in addition to this the Skircoat Stand is old and has restricted viewing. The Club also needs to further develop its youth structure in order to maximise its potential and ensure the development of homegrown talent. It is felt that Halifax RLFC could be an asset to SL, as it has in the past, the Club has a strong tradition and is a founder member. Halifax RLFC needs to continue to work on its fan base and attendances and it is felt that the Club still needs to further develop the points raised and to continue its growth in off the field areas such as finances. The Club just misses out on its application to join SL but is awared a Grade B- (conditional) upon meeting these objectives a further application in the future will be welcomed by the RFL comittee. The Club should feel very proud of the work put in the results achieved, they continue to be a strong member of the Championship and the Rugby League community as a whole.
In short, well done for making an effort, but we dont want you...
Whats annoying is, we could develop the areas needed much more effecttively from within SL. Its a paradox.
