Jonesey always tried and wore his heart on his sleeve. But the question is "Would you be concerned to see a player playing AGAINST your team?" The obvious answers with the likes of Makka and Penky would be a resounding "YES", and I was glad to see Handforth not return for the 2nd half when we played Batley.



But would I be concerned to see Danny oppose us? No, not at all. Very "bland" in attack, even though his goal kicking got better as the season progressed. Cannot seeing him being offered a contract, but wish him all the best wherever he might end up.

Was told before Sheff game that Danny not been offered a contract

In which case it will have to be a massive turn around in form. I know Blacky's had his injury problems, but all in all not being an automatic choice for one of the half back positions really says it all, especially when there's been no real competition for the spot. Were Handforth or Roonie ever played from the bench? I doubt it (unless they were returning from injury). Blacky had a good season two years ago and before I get swamped by mad hysteria .... yes ... he dropped "that" goal in last year's GF.



I sincerely wish Ben all the best at Batley. And I will certainly applaud his re-appearances at the Shay. But I think their fans will be expecting too much and will end up disappointed.

Other than Ben Black we have carried on with exactly the same recruitment policy as we have for the past few seasons, young lads from the lower division or from SL academies. All of the other stuff is hearsay!

Could well be, but he was said to be on a fair bit of money at Fax, and if the rumours were right, there was demand for his signature, however can see reason's why he'd choose Batley over Swinton

I saw Danny earlier today - he told me he as not been offered anything from Fax and is defo moving on.
