I have a lot of friends who are AFC Halifax fans who can't stand Halifax RL but strangely I can't think of any friends who are rugby fans disliking AFC Halifax. However I can think of several RL fans who think football is a less entertaining sport than RL.



I believe a lot of the arrogance you refer to could be better described as apathy.



I also think there have been a lot of accusations from football fans over things like 'rent' which doesn't help things.



One thing is for certain - the Shay in its current form is a lot better ground than it was 12 years ago and couldn't have been done without some element of the two teams, stadium trust and council working together. I say bravo to all concerned.



What constantly dissapoints me is the relatively low turn out both teams are able to generate from a town with over 100,000 population. I know so many people who are willing to pretend to be life long Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool etc etc fans who have never been within a sniff of the respective stadiums. Likewise with Super League. I can't stand seeing people in Bulls, Rhinos, Hudds shirts in and around town as 15 years ago - this would just not happen.



In fact - apathy is good word all round. Probably sums up the vast majority of the towns population. Happy to whinge about things but not happy to get involved and make a difference.

In fact - having seen the message board for AFC Halifax for the first time it's quite funny.



It appears we spend all our time hanging pictures in the east stand, selling RL shirts to Town fans, not paying rent and making up crowd figures (and only one of those is true).



At least Geoff Butler has posted the same message on that site - a few of their fans on the site at least appear to want to build bridges but far too many will knock it down immediately.

Don't think that's just limited to the football fans.

Can't see why someone would make up the story about the shirt.



"Withholding" of rent was substantially reported.



The Batley crowd figure was CLEARLY overinflated.



Putting up pictures? No idea.

The Halifax RLFC Past Players Association have relocated the Halifax Hall of Fame to the Wall opposite the bar in the Harvey Suite. Town fans have taken great exception to this and many feel it has been done to spite the football club and is the rugby club flexing its muscles!!!!



Really??? How childish does this have to get, we have a proud heritage and history that the whole town should be proud of and if Town have a Hall of Fame why can't they go side by side??



Many Town fans though would have you believe Fax have committed the biggest sin outside of the ten commandments!!

Good point but why is that far more Town fans despise Fax than the other way round?



As for 1 out of 4 or 3 out of 4 - it's all down to how picky you want to be really. Tickets sold/given away. Rent being withheld reasonably (or not - I don't know the full picture. Does anyone?).

Because when the football club were kicked out of the Conference the rugby club (club, not fans) (though probably fans as well) were only too happy to take the ground for their own, a ground which had, for 80 or so years belonged to the football club.

Am I the only one who doesn't know about this? Is this really the case?

And Halifax Town treated Fax like the pest when theyx moved from Thrum Hall. Locking doors and hiding keys. Turning the water off etc. Halifax Town are far from innocent how they have treated Fax at the Shay.

The Rugby fans will still hate the Wendyballers as you say it



and the football fans will hate the Egg chasers,



some people just dont like the other sport theres nothing wrong with that
