At the game I hadn't noticed the niggles and knee's of Ben Cross. The one thing I did notice was that, as a prop his fitness levels were pretty good and he seemed to do the full 80. (If he was rotated, I didn't see it).



I have however since watched the game as recorded at home, and Yes it just happens to have been him who stuck the knee in Danny Orr's back leading to Orr leaving the the field. Cross just happened to be the one kneeling on Youngquest's arm in the first half.



I'm not saying out players are 'whiter than white', but Cross is definitely a dirty, take no prisoners, player!

He is crap like most of our players

I didn't think the Orr incident looked intentional; Cross is certainly a niggler who seems unable to control himself, but that one looked accidental. Fair play to Orr for holding his ground, but it looked like a challenge for the ball and Orr came off second best. Hope he's ok.



How about Mr McGoldrick and his attempt to crush Cameron Phelps' (?) windpipe - does that warrant inclusion in this discussion? What a horrible git - the sooner he's out of the English game, the better.



On a lighter note - are Cas the most tattooed team in SL??

McGoldrick has been mentioned. I think there's a thread on the VT including it as well. He's dense and should get a couple of games for it. There's no excuse, not even accidental was it?



I don't think the challenge on Orr was deliberate, just going for the ball. Didn't really notice much niggle at the game, but no doubt more was picked up by those watching on TV.

Interesting that nobody mentioned Phelps. It made me laugh how we got penalised for a high shot on him when it was probably born out of frustration of about three high shots, plus a tackle in the air, all committed by him that went unpunished.



Not the best of games all round to be honest but a decent performance by Cas I thought, when watching it in a very tired state when I got home from a weekend away last night. The penalty count was ridiculous against us though - we were being penalised for the same things as Widnes but weren't nearly as bad as they were in committing them - quite possibly one of the worst teams for spoiling the game I've seen all season.

Bren I have a sneaky feeling Mr McGoldrick will be in the red white and blue next season along with our petulant hat trick hero, sorry to be the bearer of bad news!!

... and like Ritchie Mathers will be the best thing since sliced bread.

Our petulant hat-trick hero was having a right old barney with some Cas fans behind the sticks after he failed to collect the ball that resulted in Widnes' first try. He needs to learn to control his temper/emotions. Took his tries well though when we started to throw it about a bit.

I would hope not, on both counts; McGoldrick's failing are obvious and whilst Youngquest knows where the try line is, he spends too much time poncing around with his hair and arguing with fans on Twitter for my liking.



On the other hand, if Cas were paying half their wages, like a certain Mr Mathers, I might be forced to reconsider my position...

Less a club decision, more a coach decision, I think.

TBF to Mathers I wasn't a huge fan when we signed him, and of course all players make mistakes, but I'd say he was a quality signing, who attacks and defends well.

No complaints from me.

Can't always see the logic in some signings, Youngquest is a fifty fifty call, but McGoldrick is heading home or for the lower leagues.

As Bren has posted, his failings are obvious to all (apart from perhaps Basil) he offers not one thing in his game to entice a perspective coach.
