I wasn't a fan of Adamson's decision to play but you have to take each case on its' own merits.



Firstly, Adamson was never a pivotal player in a key position, Sinfield is.



Adamsons' role could easily have been taken by someone else, I don't think Sinfield's can.



Would be foolish to risk serious, permanent injury to the face for the sake of a game, however big a game. This applies equally to Sinfield and Adamson.



Adamson was a shameless self promoter whose decision to play (at the expense of a team mate) was not some heroic effort for the betterment of the team.

If Sinfield (or any player) takes to the field with a known injury it will be targetted by the opposition but let's not get carried away. Long played on Friday night with a known issue and survived.

Frankly it'd be a bit foolish not to at least ensure you rubbed the occasional forearm across it while "clearing the ruck" and I would be amazed if anything less happened. I would never advocate any sort of swinging arm whether a known facial injury existed or not, but a bit of roughing up is all part of the game. I'm sure if Sinfield takes the field with such an injury he will expect nothing less. I don't think anybody over the age of 14 is that naiive.

It was his stupid fault and could easily have left him blind, if Sinfield plays with a known injury and is targeted then in a similar vein it will be his choice, his fault if he is targeted, I would expect nothing less of an opposition.
