| Got to agree with the Udders supporter. Always want England to do well, especially in Rugby League regardless of where the Bulk of the squad turn out from (there rarely is anyone from Cas in). If we nick a last minute win against New Zealand I couldn't care less who scores weather it be someone from Leeds, Wakey, Wigan or West Tigers.
Ellis should have been skipper & McNamara is a cr@p coach but wanting England to lose is pathetic.

| I will be supporting the team, and want them to win but I am quite happy no Leeds players are playing. Leeds are my priority and a full pre season with all the squad starting together should help them next season,

| I'm relieved no Leeds players are in to be honest - in recent seasons they've usually been scapegoats (justified or not) and have rarely lived up to their potential at international level, which is a shame.
That said I'm no less excited about international RL, and will be optimistically cheering England on.

| Perhaps I didn't choose my words as carefully as I should have, it's not "WANTING" us to lose, it's just in the event that we do lose, I shall be cheered up very quickly by the fact we had nothing to do with it.
I do find it interesting though that a lot more people than I'd expect seem to have very little or no emotional connection to the International team. Whoever it's made up of.

Given that I know who Andrew J is, badly.
I'd give up now and save embarrassing yourself any further.

| In some ways I wish I felt the same as some have commented on here. I would of saved myself thousands of pounds in 2008 when England were exposed as an average outfit. Although, I did enjoy the final when the Aussies, with their overconfident fans, were well and truly shut up for a change.
Doesn't matter who the coach is we are a million miles away from the boys in the southern hemisphere especially on their patch.

| Silly thread this.
My feelings on international RL remain constant. From February to October Leeds are my priority. When the players get to international duty, they cease to be Leeds, Wigan, St Helens, Huddersfield etc players and just become England players. While I will not deny that it's that extra bit satisfying when a good number of them are players you've watched through your club's academy, I'll always be right behind the England/GB team.
The fact that the current crop looks a bit on the ordinary side for a touring team also has no effect on whether I want them to win. If the likes of Graham and Tomkins etc can go out and prove me wrong this weekend I'll be absoultely delighted. While the squad would, in my opinion (and it's only my opinion), look a little stronger with Sinfield, McGuire, Peacock, Hall and Burrow in it (see also Eastmond and Morley), it wouldn't look enough stronger to make me really fancy our chances on this tour.

How can you say that ?? Thats so narrow minded , thats the attitude that stops this great game of our from being more popular than 'kick and rush' version
This game will only expand if the International games are more competative and the game gets more TV exposure, one way to ensure this is for the England team to be succesful
You ask any Aussie if they are interested and want their international team to win , you will get a resounding YES !!!!!!!

| Kudos to the OP. a trolling tour de force a nice return to form. Broach the subject, add a bit of controversial subject matter, mix with a smidgin of dark truths then put in the SS.com oven and VOILA!!! instant chompage.

| I'm torn, can't decide either way but TBH it's a tough dilemma. I don't think I can truthfully answer this question.
Should I buy the England centenary shirt when I looks so much like Wigan?
