| Hicks got a couple of things wrong last night, no big deal.
I actually think Child's better than he used to be and could even make a good ref

| Quote craigizzard="craigizzard"I wasn't at the game last night but if the only chants were "oh what a referee" and "the referee's a wnker" then you need to get a grip. Not only have those chants been going on for 40 years, they're also heard almost every single week at every single ground in the country. To specifically say "it makes me ashamed to he associated with the Rhinos" is bizarre.'"

| Quote tad rhino="tad rhino"he did well in what was a tough game. progressing well as a ref'"
Hicks is a dangerous fella, too involved with reffing the person rather than the offence, and also reffing the team rather than the offence. The forward pass he gave against Saints on Friday night was an awful decision, not a hang able offence when taken in isolation, but I've watched him from my eyrie in the North Stand ignore far worse on a regular basis in his role as touch judge. When Frog Eyes cheated by throwing the ball into the grounded Saints player Hicks was weak in awarding a penalty, awarding it only because it was O'Loughlin and Wigan. The only good thing about having him out in the middle is that he can be scrutinised and brought to book a lot easier. He is a real danger on the touch line when his interventions are invariably to the detriment of Leeds. It's like death by a thousand cuts when he gets you with lots of sly little calls from the safety of touch judge down his little microphone.

None the less it was a clear penalty. Reminded me a bit of Burrow running deliberately into an offside player to earn the game-winning penalty that dumped wigan out of the play offs a few years back.

Would it? Quinlan would've beaten Bowen, Smith and Burgess?

Douglas Bader could beat Smith.

You spoil a reasonable discussion with a stupid paranoid sentence.

If you are a Cas fan you qualify for the most ironic post of the year coming from the village of paranoia. My opinion of Hicks is based on events over a period of time, including things he has said to drop himself in the sh*t regarding certain decisions, one being his sin binning of McGuire for trying to avoid a broken ankle. The audio The Printer uploaded where Hicks explained his decision making process was the most damning evidence you will ever hear regarding his propensity for holding grudges. He's said plenty and done plenty that show him to be an inconsistent and discriminatory official. If you're reading Robert, I've got your card marked you sneaky little snitch.

| Who's started the "get James Child out of Super League" petition then?
I really despair sometimes.

Where is this petition? It needs signing. Ruined yet another game today. No worse ref in the game at the moment. Needs time away from the game to remove that massive chip on his shoulder.

Might not be a Leeds fan. He is generally poor for all teams. If it was created today might very well have come from across the Pennines
