Its only a poisoned chalice if you let it be one. Leeds & Saints got on with task with little fuss. Wire had Tony Smith whinging (no surprise) about not getting involved and Wigan had IL do his whole "Wigan vs Wire GF for the good of the game" speech.



Whoever get its should just turn up & say "we're picking them because they're the lowest ranked team, end of".

Interesting to see someone saying they can't see Leeds beating Warrington twice in three weeks.



Recent games between the two clubs have been pretty even, close affairs that could have gone either way. There's not a whole lot between them, Warrington are probably the better attacking side when it clicks but are equally capable of shooting themselves in the foot when it doesn't.



I'd be more confident of Leeds turning over Warrington twice in the playoff series than I would of them doing the same to Huddersfield, Wigan or Saints for example.

As a wire fan, i'd be more confident of beating the rhinos in the GF* than i would us playing you in the final eliminator, thats my idea of a nightmare that.



*Thats not saying i think we would, you're still my tip to win it.

I just don't see Wigan as a threat. Tomkins & Charnley (arguably) aside, which Wigan player is better than their Leeds (or Wire or Shudds) opposite? Taylor at sub is the only other Wigan player I rate, with O'L being injured.

LLS is a title matey. And actual champions if truth be known. The play offs are just an end of season trophy. One we would like to win, but don`t belittle what we have done this season.

Total Bollox you know it and so do the rest of SL.

Congrats on winning the hub-cap it was well deserved but all that means is you've been the most consistent team this year during the race for the top 8.

Nobody is trying to belittle your achievement, but the fact is that Huddersfield prioritised winning the LLS, and I suspect no other team did, however nice it might be to win it.



When every team is going flat out for the same goal in September and October, that's when you see the real champions. If that's Huddersfield, then you will most definitely get the credit you deserve.

I'm perplexed, for the last 2 years now I've heard about how 4th is the worst possible position to finish in as you're guaranteed a massive beating from 1st that psychologically is impossible to recover from?



Yet Huddersfield vs Wigan tonight.........hmmm.

Total tosh pal , even the most commited RL fan struggles to remember the LLS winners from most years , but we all know who won the GF every single year .

Complete bollox - the top clubs try and peak AFTER the regular season. If the LLS decided the title you'd see a totally different approach to the season from many coaches.



Huddersfield look to have already peaked and from the look of the Giants tonight, they're on the wrong side of the form curve.

Well.... What a surprise! When faced with a team who don't crumble after 15 mins of pressure, Hudds begin to panic and fall to pieces. They can't live with the top teams when it comes to close, high intensity games. They're used to racking up big scores against the Salfords, Wakeys and regular season Leeds with a start like that.



Danny Brough returned to his usual rabbit in the headlights, head shaking, 'everyone else's fault' that always happens when he's up against a good, organised and fired up defence. He's not got the temperament for good, hard, close games, where his forwards aren't completely dominent.

It is bollox but its a shame it has become bollox. We need some way of incentivising 1st place more. Perhaps like Brian Carney said, give 1st place after the regular rounds the place in the world club challenge.

Whilst we have to accept the situation is what it is, its much easier to be the best team over 3-5 games than it is over 20 odd.

It comes as no surprise to me, but i'd be wary of writing them off completely just yet.
