On the plus side, the domestic football season montage lasted for about the same length as the rugby league montage and the BBC did mention both John Holmes and Leon Walker in the montage of sports people who had passed away in 2009.

I can't see 11k people getting away from Leeds City Centre via public transport as quick as I did tonight. Was back at Meadowhall Park and Ride within 20 minutes of the show ending. |

Anyone tuning into BBC SPOTY expecting to see a big section on RL is ignoring the previous 40 odd years.
Actually watched it this year and it wasn't half bad as a bit of entertainment. Couldn't really understand the point of the fat bloke from Gavin and Stacy, but otherwise reasonable. Eddie Izzards effort has given me inspiration that's for sure.
