pre-Superleague Supermen?

How do you work that out when it was Maurice Lindsay who proposed Super league, secured the TV deal so it could happen and all the leading clubs including your own asked for Maurice to control Super league to get it going. Like him or hate him rugby league wouldnt be where it is now without him, and im damn sure he could come up with better ideas than the Millenium magic if he was their now.
