| Sammut has two years left on his contract at Crusaders and the club have stated in the press that he isn't for sale. He's a great looking player though. Inconsistent, but amazing when on fire.

| I'd rather keep the 21 year old English player thanks.
The Eastmond to union thing is all agent speak - we've heard it a zillion times before about all sorts of players from all sorts of clubs and very rarely do they end up in union.
If he goes, I'd rather see Wheeler/Gaskell/Lomax in the halves than an aussie.

| Kyle Eastmond is the most exciting product to come out of the Saints youth system for 17 years. Ben Sammutt is a talented lad but is essentially only ever going to be a Luke Dorn-esque journeyman. If he was anywhere near Eastmond's standard he'd still be in the NRL (and probably fielding offers from top RU clubs).
How about we chill out and see what happens?

Your point was spot on, plus I'd rather we didn't nick the best players from Cru or Catalans. Quins and Cas are a bit more established

You are right about Sammut (Jarrod)
The Panthers released him because he is probably the weakest defensive player playing top level RL, even worse than Tim Smith.
Most English fans wouldn't have seen much of him apart from his try up at Murrayfield last season, yes he can have flashy moments but he is way too inconsistent and way over rated by English fans on the basis of that try.

| I vote for selling Eastmond now rather than risking letting his contract run out. Spurs would interested if we could get David Moyes of Everton to say he would like to sign Kyle.
Another option is the Wire. Flog him there for £500,000 plus Myler and Harrison. They'd go for it, just for the opportunity to show off.
But what IMO is going to happen:
Kyle Eastmond -> Bath £200,000 Next month
Sean Long -> Saints Loan Next month. Wants to return closer to home, stop gap cover at Saints ideal
Jarrud Sammut -> Hull £50,000 Next month. Hull want him, but can't really sign him with Long on the payroll
NRL random -> Saints 2012.

Long is going nowhere. We are looking for back up halves, never mind loaning out our current ones. He has already returned closer to home, now leaves back in Wigan with his family and commutes.

| Can't believe people want Sammut to replace anybody, never mind Eastmond.
