Everybodys got weakneses. But the time as come when Pauls main weakness is rapped in most of the big games.

We already have a replacement for Wellens in Lomax. So it's not like we're badly off. Most SL clubs struggle to field ONE decent fullback.

You're correct and i'm sorry i'm slating Paul. His a legend of our club. However you cant ignore the fact that teams are targeting his lack of pace.

I strongly suspect the coaching team has been planning to shift Wellens out of fullback for some time.



He may end up as some kind of super sub. A bit like Veivers was in his final days.

To be fair, Wellens was cruelly exposed again today.



I think his days at the top as a fullback are coming to a close.

He has been by far the best fullback of the SL era, and a true Saints great.

However his legs are getting older and slower, and they have never been the quickest to begin with.



I suspect that next year Lomax will start to get more and more game time at fullback with Wello moving into the loose forward position.
