Mal would be the best choice and good for the game as well as the club! but is the time right now, perhaps that will be by the time the new ground is ready and open?

There is a shortlist of four for the job, all of whom have been formally interviewed. One of these is a 'preferred option' of the chairman but he will not mention any names as you would expect.

I'm guessing if it's a preferred option by the chairman then thats Meninga ? And he is still un-decided to come ? Otherwise the 'preferred' option would certainly just be signed and be done with it.

Tony Colquit said on BBC Merseyside that the four were one UK and three overseas. Again didn't mention names as you would expect.

It's a tough one. Menninga is making the right noises, we're obviously keen on Simmons as you don't fly half way round the world or make someone do that for nothing.



Purtill also seems to think he should get the job.
