| Warrington have announce that Mathers is leaving at the end of the season. He has been in good form this year, getting back to his old Rhinos form, and at 26 i think he is definatly worth a punt. We won't sign a quality 6 so i'd be quite happy to see Kearney at 6 and Mathers at Fullback. Anyone think he's worth a shot. Halley also seems better on the wing, and i'd release Reardon.

| He's an average player in a good side. He got found out at Wigan when he was absolutely crap and got shipped out. I wouldn't want him

| IMO Mathers would be a fantastic signing for the Bulls
His poor time at the Goons was partly down to his previous serious knee injury and how long it can take a player to fully recover their form, and more importantly with how Nobby's man management skills left him a pale shadow of his un-doubted talents
It's a clear mark of Mathers' make-up as both a person and a player in how he has handled the recent signing of Hodgeson for the Wolves for next season

| would fit right in with our recent signing policy, fullback is the new 2nd row don't you know.
seriously can't really see us going for mathers. He wouldnt get in at fullback ahead of kearney and can't see him going anywhere where he isnt 1st choice FB. We've got the natural replacement for when kearney goes back to oz coming through the academy in hellewell and we have plenty of cover for fullback. Can mathers play any other position than FB? can't say I've ever noticed him anywhere else.

| He's not as good as Kearney at full-back, and we've pretty much established that having Kearney in the halves full-time isn't the greatest option.
If we didn't have Kearney then i'd say yes please, but Mathers would want to be first choice.

| Mathers could play 6 i reckon. Pretty sure he spent a fair bit of his academy life there.
Having said that.. i wouldn't be rushing to sign him cause in the outside backs he can only play fullback.

| He also played on the wing and would be a good versatile signing covering FB,SO or wing

As had Kearney, but his best position is still full-back and it does seem a waste to shift him to stand-off, so I presume it would be the same with Mathers.

| He's leaving wire because he wants to be 1st choice FB. We have Kearney who should be our 1st choice FB next season, we shouldn't need Mathers for 2011 we have enough squad issues elsewhere without recruiting another FB, he wouldn't come anyway, end of IMO.

Pretty sure with Mathers it was cause Mcguire was another junior stand off.
I'm sure Leeds fans will have a better idea of Mathers at Stand off.
Probably a wasted venture given he's ben trained as a fullback for the past god knows how many years.
