Quote dixie="dixie"I'd have thought any extra cash ( if any ) would be used for players, maybe as an incentive for the new coach to show the club means business.'"
So many on here have been clamouring for the club to spend on coaching staff, have they not? How might they react if we cut corners on the coaching staff, even if to pay for say one or two more middle-rank players?
Club runs the risk of being damned if they do and damned if they do not.
With the youth pipeline starting to hit paydirt, I'd personally prefer we got the future coaching structure "right", even if that limited the player budget a little at least in the short term.
Since the "right" coaching appointment/s will surely bring more fans flocking back, as the Macca Sackers have assured us, and thereby generate more funds for players going forward anyway.
And on the basis that the "right" coaching staff will surely bring the results that all the Macca Sackers have assured us they will, even working to the same player budgets as Macca has had to, since they regularly assure us that the "Right" appointments will clearly be far better coaches than Macca is? I cannot imagine any of the Macca Sackers now saying that the budget constraint, out of his hands, was in fact a big issue and that the "right" coaching team cannot in fact do better than Macca without more budget?
So I agree with the Macca Sackers on that point - you want to get the "right" coaching appointments, you gotta pay for it. And if that is at the expense of other budgets, well is there an alternative?
