The best description I heard was that 'dinner' is the main meal of the day, at whatever time of day you partake.
As a fully qualified oik of long standing and breeding it is my usual practice have it at dinner time when the denizens of places like Ilkey (save perhaps one?) are probably having lunch.
Incidentally, on the fish shop front, much as I like Murgatroyd's it has to bow down to the Wetherby Whaler in Pudsey, which reigns supreme for my money. |
