| My main worry was that they wouldn't have cleared it up along the A629 from Skipton to Keighley as I returned from Scotland, however despite all the signs along the A65, like messengers of doom, all telling of "delays", thankfully there were none. Result!

Maybe, but I've seen more than one real cock and balls running up a mountain along side the riders.

It was the bit between Blubberhouses and Hebden Bridge.

That was a local writing their name...

| I quite like their attitude to timekeeping. In an age when winning margins are often calculated to three decimal points, they give everyone the same time.

TBH I thought Keighley town centre looked very poor compared with Haworth and Silsden who looked amazing. North Street was utter pants. A few shops had put up a couple of bits of shoddy bunting and that was it. Shame!
Did the rotary club get many takers for that bit of scaffolding they put up near the Shimla Spice? £20 to stand on it about 2 ft higher than pavement level. Ripoff!

They'll give you the same time if you fall off and crawl over the line an hour later, provided you remember to drag your bike with you.

To be fair, the smaller the place the more they feel proud that [itheir[/i little corner of the world has been singled out for all this attention and they seem to get themselves up for these events. Bigger places just seem to, dare I say it, give a sort of Gallic shrug and take it more in their stride.

isnt that the symbol for the watering break? must have had a good hose-down.
amazing how many of you were drawn to Keighley, is there a secret agenda for season tickets for next year going on here?
I watched it at Kilnsey, no knobs on the road but plenty beside it.

Fraid I have to disagree Bulliace. Knaresborough looked great, as did Skipton. I know Harrogate was the finish for stage 1 but it looked superb. I know Keighley isn’t as well off as those places but the town centre didn’t so much as shrug as to just fecklessly not be d.
Poor effort.

| To be fair on Keighley there was a huge crowd down on the dual carriageway for the end of the sprint section, and the mosque on North Street had made the effort to put a massive banner up. But unlike Skipton, and Harrogate most of the shops on North Street are actually empty and derelict, but little effort from the councils to try to make the place look better for it's moment in the global spot light
