Well, it certainly sounds promising.

I can't see a player who is under contract and has never stated in public that he wants to leave being announced as a left field signing.



It would be nice to have a signing who is recognised class rather than being 'left field'! Left field to me says that it's a player who could potentially be good rather that is guaranteed to be good!

Left-field signings have included Robbie Paul, Paul Anderson and Mick Withers. Signings who were 'recognised class' have included Shaun Edwards, David Solomona and, erm, Matt Orford. [size=50Yes, I know I'm being selective.[/size

It's Worrincey being signed on a 5 year. However, I think Worrincey is more of a left out than left field type of player

To me it says a signing that no-one expected. "Coming out of left field..." - not expected or prepared for.

this ones for adey.i take it you are the adey on the t&a forum.if not my apologies.you seem to be forgetting one thing about glenn morrisons similar situation when injured saying that orford couldnt wait to get away.morrison had a wife and two kids over here to be around him as he recuperated.orford is a single guy and therefore chose to return back to oz to be with his family.personally i dont have a problem with that and lets not forget that the last actual quote attributed to orford on this matter was exactly the same as we have heard today.now im not naive enough to think that theres no substance to any of the rumours floating round oz but if he does return as he says he will then lets get behind him and the rest of the team (including worrincy and hall) and push this mighty club forward again

No I am not the Adey on the T&A. I'm Adeybull on there, same as on here and same as on TotalRL. The only place I am Adey is on the Bullbuilder site.



The only real reason I post on the T&A (occasionally) at all is because so many folk make the same mistake as you have, and I post on there to show "Adey" is not me! I think even Duffy thought it was me...

Surely if you had read my own posts on here you'd have seen that my own view on this subject is the same as yours?

I would say a left field signing is someone who we havent been linked to on the rumour mill. Eg ah van, raynor, royston.

then as i said earlier please accept my apology.i must admit i thought youd gone a little bit off track as i recall your earlier posts being quite supportive of orford.also to whoever is adey on t&a get a life man!!!

And as this is the Orford thread that's hardly left field at all and anyway tomorrows announcement has nothing to do with Orford. He's contracted to return in November and will do so unless he can secure a release..... the wait continues.
