You can see that 'hit' again on the guardian highlights. I've watched it a few times and can't make my mind up about it. Hopefully the rfl will think the same!

wonder what the chances are of RFL showing us the same leniency they've shown certain other teams repeat offenders. wouldnt be surprised if he gets full 2 matches even though it seemed a fair tackle from my recollection and viewing the video on guardian website.

Having had a couple of looks at it on The Guardian's website I'm a bit less inclined to think there was anything wrong with it. I'm not sure whether Scruton makes contact with Clinton's head or not, the angles and quality aren't great.



What makes it appear bad is that it's actually (it was massive, a real cruncher) a brutal collision between two 17 stoneish props at a pretty hefty rate of knots. I'm still not convinced that it's not dangerous play to jump into a tackle like that, however, this is RL and you can't penalise players for being big lads. I remember a much smaller player jumping and bringing down Fa'asavalu in a one on one which was rightly proclaimed a fabulous hit.

Live I thought it was just a great hit but, even with the low quality on the Guardians site, I can see why they'd take a look. Assuming the panel doesn't include Cummings and Ganson I'd be disappointed if he was found guilty.
