While the commentary in the papers about the EDL has been generally pretty accurate, I'm still very disappointed to see the UAF being almost ignored by most of the reports. IMO both groups need the criticism here, as the UAF basically just follow round the EDL, which is asking for trouble just as much.



They were all down in Brighton together today. EDL protest, along with "Anti-Facists" (no doubt UAF or similar) following for their own.

Brighton?! That well known hotbed of islamic fundamentalism!!



Yep UAF, and their hangers on, are just as bad - up for a ruck pure and simple, sadly their name gives them too much leeway with some people, to be fair the T&A did report that people from their protest tried to break out and incite trouble with the EDL, and the article I linked to stated their role in helping fan the flames in 2001.

As everyone knew the T&A would give a totally biased report i took the opportunity to visit Bradford on Saturday and had a fairly decent view of the events from standing near the bottom of cheapside..



Some EDL supporters arrived on foot and by train but most were ferried in on couches to the demo point, i suspect there was a large group of Football Hooligan type amongst them for this one. A large group of Asian men and a few studenty looking types also gathered to greet them chanting the "nazis off our streets" and making strange grunting sounds. The EDL responded by singing "England till i die" etc.



As the EDL group grew larger they pushed forward towards the UAF/others but the police line held firm. The first missiles that i saw thrown were from the EDL side and were thrown back. Racist chants were exchanged by both sides which i found strange as the UAF supporters (who were predomantly white) stood next to the Asian men shouting "white b*****s" etc!!



At that point i left. I will say i thought the police did an excellent job at keeping the 2 sides apart.

Couldn't believe the "Allah is a paedo!" chants!

Apparently they also surfaced in Brighton too when an asian bloke was shouting obscenities at the EDL, along with "We've all sh*gged your wife" (or something along those lines, I forget the exact wording).



"We love the floods" may have been reserved especially for Bradford though as I didn't hear about that being used in Brighton.





Really goes a long way to proving them right when they said they weren't racist eh?

who is left to pay for all this policing? I think the bill should be passed on to both the UAF and EDL but I know that is unlikely.

but democracy goes with what the majority wants and doesn't want. The majority of Bradford DID NOT want the EDL or the UAF here. Therefore why should the majority pay for something we did not want?
