I know this is going to sound silly but I have heard it's a £1 million deal from Morrisons. It's a major national brand and it's also based in Bradford. This is what I have HEARD it doesn't mean it's fact.

Its not the Company I've heard mentioned and if it is, the money will be very very very small change for them!

On problem with morrisons is theyve had lots off opportunities over the years to get involved and have always steered clear.



Been thinking about who it could be and wondering about the mentions of green in the various press snippets. Obvious link was greenwoods but maybe it's a bit more tenuous than that. What about m&s or asda? Both have green as corporate color and national brands. M&s are major local employers at the logistics centre at top of 606. Maybe more likely is asda. New store opening in a couple of weeks in direct competition with the morrisons next door plus another store slap bang in middle of bulls support base. What better way to get any bulls supporting morrisons customers to switch allegance to them than supporting the local team?

A bloke that stands near me does his shopping at Morrisons. I know this because he always brings his cans in a Morrisons carrier.



The stewards use the same bag to bin the empties after they've tipped them out.

I suppose it could be the same carrier but it would be a little far fetched for him to go and fish it out of the bin every other week just to save it. I don't know could be caring for the environment. I hope they recycle the empty cans.

To be scrupulously fair they have done the odd matchday thing in the past (is it my imagination or was there really once a sponge suited, black and yellow 'M' figure running around a few years back?) though whether this was a little bit by an individual store manager, rather than a head office initiative, I don't know. Anyway, I always thought it was that (alleged) Bull's fan, Sir Ken who was reluctant to put money into sponsorship, and he's gone now, so you never know.

Some years ago I was at a marketing meeting where it was said that no national retailer would sponsor a single club which competed against other clubs who were themselves located in areas serviced by the retailer.

The premise being that there would be a considerable negativity in footfall to those stores.

I don't know of any major supermarket that sponsors a single club be it in RL or football, but that hasn't always been the case. Wigan did have Tesco on their jerseys not so long back.

Wasn't the guy behind the Avenue's bid called GREENWOOD,and the bid had rumours to Carlsberg being involved.

They want to get one of those hessian bin bag for life things.
