| Thought Halley was rubbish today. Saints walked through him a few times.

To be fair, he had alot to do today. He stopped them 2 or 3 times, but our defence was so weak he was made to tackle about 3 or 4 times what a full-back should have to.

| Quote amberavenger="amberavenger"Am I the only one who thinks Halley is utterly lightweight at fullback. Yes he puts in the effort, but his defence is completely patchy, especially one on one when he's the last man standing. In those situations I always expect him to come off second best and in that respect he isn't much better than Platt. I'd keep him in the team though, for sure, but you look at Kearney who's natural fullback instincts were coming though loud and clear today on more than one occasion (noteably the try-saving ankle tap - a real full back's knock IMHO) and wonder why? I know there is then the problem of who to play at 6, but it's all food for thought'"
Nail on the head award goes to amberavenger. Kearney looks to be a fullback but the only other player who could step in at 6 is Sykes
Scruton
Hall
Whitehead
Honourable mentions - Menzies and Sheriffe.

| Quote Paul124897="Paul124897"I disagree, he is a player who puts 110% in every game.
He stood up today, when nobody was willing to kick on the last, or even chase the kick. Up he stepped, kicked the ball from the twenty after 3 other players faffed around with it, turned the winger around and darted to the other end of the field to make the tackle.'"
Yes he does put in 110%, and he did exactly what you said he did. But that doesn't make him a quality fullback. He could do that from the wing. As pointed out by others, his positioning when the opposition is near to the line leaves room for improvement and he's hardly a great kick returner, he rarely ever gets past the first tackler and he offers little attacking threat either as support runner or chiming in to the line (partly because the set plays where he does this are so predictable). I like his enthusiasm a lot, but Kearney and Orford showed similar today and Kearney and Reardon are both better fullbacks and Sykes is a better stand off than he is a Centre. Can't see much changing though, but I'd like to see Platt in at centre, Sykes to SO, Kearney to FB and Halley and Reardon offering competition for the wing. I think that would help solidify the defence and gives us more options when attacking.

He probably does run a long way during the game, just none of it with ball in hand

He did make a good couple of runs, but didn't receive the pass - why he continued to run another 20 yards after not receiving the ball though is anyones guess - probably hoping to up his GPS results!

| Scruton by a mile. Whitehead for doing his best in difficult circumstances. I can't think of anyone else who deserves any credit really.

| I'd go with
Scruton
Whitehead
Sheriffe
Was impressed again with the effort from Sheriffe, he seems to be one of few that are delivering on promises to improve. Langley put in lots of graft again too, deserves a mention, but just missed out on my top three.
