What research is this based on?

The fact of the matter is wherever you stand you can breath in smoke, so a small section of non smoking terracing shouldn't be a problem should it?

What are you contributing? You'll still want NHS treatment if you need it but you want to dictate where the smokers who are paying for it stand for a cig. Typical sponging Non-smokers and T-totallers

Is Smoking at Odsal that big of a deal? People have the freedom to enjoy a cigarette etc and i have never been that bothered by someone smoking as to want a section for them. Segregation of smokers and non smokers is not a good idea as it would mean that they would have to move which noone should be asked to. The solution is tolerate it, which you should be able to do as it is not like these people are blowing directly into your face (plus Odsal is very areated due to the lack of a roof so your discomfort should not last long.) or politiley ask them to not to blow the smoke in your area.

It only takes one person to be stood within a short distance to be affected, so the actual percentage of the crowd is irrelevant.

Should there be a small section set aside for non smokers, or shall i stop attending, or would you prefer me to partake in passive smoking?

Correct, when I do have a cig at odsal, I always blow the smoke up in the air, its not as if I lean over and blow it in the faces of the people in front/ to the side of me, and to be fair a lot of other smokers will do the same.

As a smoker, I do smoke during matches. I try not to but during some matches I find I'm puffing away alot more than usual (bulls V saints). However if I am smoking during matches, I will move away from non-smokers. I also check which way the wind is blowing my smoke and adjust either the direction I'm blowing or where I am stood if the smoke is touching anyone, smoker or not.



The law says no smoking in enclosed public spaces, which Odsal is not! However if anyone did ask me to move, hell even if they just gave me a dirty look for smoking, I'd move away. It only takes a few steps up or down to be in a more socially acceptable place to smoke.

No there is no need for you to stop attending Odsal, the club needs ever member to carry on going and so does the team.
