| Hock is definitely still contracted to Wigan. Unlike us with Hudson and Wakefield with Newton, they didn't sack him when he was banned.

| I thought I read that somewhere. Credit to Wigan for standing by a disgraced player during his hour of need. I think it's fair to say if it were someone lower down the pecking order with less ability I believe they would have released them straight away.
At the end of the day it's Wigans choice. It could prove to be a great 'signing'.

| I think we are going to have to find some money from somewhere and make an offer for a 6 or 7. Obviously there are none available but we are in desperate need of another halfback. Sammut, Witt or Chase will do nicely.

Mmmm, some might say shame on Wigan for not sacking a disgraced player.

| Wigan should have sacked him but didn't and god knows why. Maybe they feel he needed a second chance.
I imagine he'll be on naff all money when he does return. He needs to earn the respect of the club and the fans.

| Whilst there is obviously a chance that the coke could have been masking something more serious, Hock was banned for taking a 'social' drug. Newton and Hudson were banned for performance enhancing drugs.
For me, that is where the line in the sand is for sacking. Stupidity and cheating are different things.

| No drugs, no matter what sort, should'nt be tolerated in our game. But i think clubs and rugby league in general should do more to help players. Gareth Hock made a stupid mistake, but Wigan have stuck by one of there own, and hopefully he will learn from his mistake and come back the player he was.
