Just watching the game and noticing the number of players already with burns/cuts on their knees and elbows. Not good really, I played on the same sort of pitch when we played Leigh East and was covered in grazes. It will be interesting to hear what the players have to say about it?

I've played on 3G pitches in the past too. They're awful for cuts and grazes.

The cuts and grazes are obviously not a good thing but the pitch is definately helping the speed and open style of play at todays game. Early season games in February previously have been forward orientated played tight around the play the ball. This is a decent game and the pitch is in my opinion helping that.

I think its working well, the game is being played in a great style for me, love it.

It certainly does speed the game up and makes for an entertaining spectacle, the players will be stinging in the morning though.

Use to play on solid pitches in winter when I were a lad, are they all softies?

The slug was going on about lack of studs. I thought studs were allowed on these pitches. I know my sons footie team play on them in studs.

it looks fantastic and makes for a very fast game but grazes and friction burns seem inevitable. it might look soft but tights and long sleeved undershirts might be the order of the day especially in the winter
