Drug testing for the NRL is conducted by the ASDA. They do have authority to take blood samples, and do take them for some tests. By working with ASDA and WADA, the NRL conveniently bypass the requirement to ask player permission.
So yes, technically the NRL do not do testing. However they have a significantly more stringent test regieme than any other Australian football code and probably more stringent than the RFL.'"
I have been told that the testing of NRL players is something of a joke. |

They shouldnt be given a choice. The RLIF and RFL should insist on all players being tested.
If the NRL/ARL refuse. The RFL should embarrass them in to it. Test and publicise the results of all english players in the competition and release statements along the lines of 'the RFL can now be confident that there are no drug cheats representing our nation. The RFL feels that drugs cheats are an abhorrent stain on our game and our game deserves the most stringent testing possible. We hope in time other nations can follow suit so the world can be sure that international competition is a fair competition on a level playing field free from cheating and performance enhancing drugs'

Well no wonder theres drugs in the NRL is Asda are conducting them.
