| It'll be interesting to see if the Aussie taget him with high kicks to try to destroy his confidence (like Bradford once did to a so called world's best FB)! I suspect not, I think it'll be via short kicks to get repeat sets. They'll want to stifle us, like they're brilliant at, if they are taking this one seriously.

| Quote Rooster Booster="Rooster Booster"Will be interesting to see him play against an Australian defence now he's been identified as a spot player by them. The aussies will be out to stiffle him / sort him out. Let's see if the aussie break their defensive line when he's running round the back.'"
I am sure in the past they have said they will be marking him very closely.

| Of course they'll have a close eye on him and a plan to stop him. The one thing Sam's got that you can't plan for is pace and acceleration.

| They'll plan for him, he's our most dangerous player. I expect someone to try to get a big hit on him early on in the hope it'll put him off, but from what I've seen of him it won't bother him mentally.
He could obviously cut it in the NRL. He's one of the best players around at the moment. Obviously there are a lot of high-quality fullbacks over there - Slater, Boyd, Gidley, etc - but it'll be good to see him up against these sorts of players week in week out.
However, it's always a shame to see any talented player leave SL.
Rather he stayed in the sport than moved to Union, though.

I am sure the team are.
The coverage in Australia in the media in general is pretty basic as I am sure you can see.
I doubt many Aussies are getting up at 1:15 or 2:15 am to watch it.
The fact Channel Nine is only showing the games Australia play in is not good for the game.
No replays next day on free to air.
I guess the feeling is the season is over and fans have moved on.

| Quote Saddened!="Saddened!"Tomkins is doing himself no favours and all these blatantly set-up press releases are really starting to get annoying.
You can tell that behind the scenes Wigan are beavering away on getting the RFL/SL to increase the salary cap or give them a dispensation or central funding to keep Tomkins. All this blatantly deliberate press rumour mongering is just the padding for their case.
I hope the RFL tell them where to go. Wigan could keep Tomkins, they could keep them both if they didn't sign players like Carmont, Finch, Lauaki, Leuleuai and Richards. That way Sam wouldn't need to continually tweet about his trips to London to meet Unionites for 'dinner'.'"
Yeah, can't wait for you and the RFL's business plan for League to come to fruition. What is it again? Oh, yes we have to wait around paying peanuts until Wakefield catch up and we have a completely even competition. When's it happening? Any time now, just around the corner?
Might I suggest that the clowns at the RFL and the bigger clowns that defend them are the reason Wembley looked like that today.

| Fair to say Sam proved a few wrong on here today. He's more than adequate of making it in the NRL.

An awful lot of syllables to use up when the word "cheats" does the job just as well.

Without doubt.
Swap Sam and Slater round and let him have the easy street of playing for the Aussies and then we'd see some fireworks.
