| I think we might be being a bit harsh on the lad, according to his [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Phillipswiki page[/url he played rugby league in university.

| At least get the 13th in line to the throne. 11th is a football royal.

| Quote Peckerwood="Peckerwood"Ha, rugby league fans are the most hypocritical lot I know!
Every year (with the exception of the year Steve Prescott presented it) the RFL get criticised because a Royal hasn't presented the trophy. When they get a member of the Royal family to present it, they get the same reaction.
The RFL have listened, and it seems they simply cannot win.'"
He's not exactly at the top of the pile and as many have said, we probably could have had a gold olympian, I know which I'd prefer.

| I'd rather have a Bernard Manning, Bernard Cribbins, Ed "Stewpot" Stewart, Ken Dodd, Bernie Clifton, Windsor Davies, Don Estelle or Cannon & Ball type presenting the trophy.

Should have got Zara Phillips, then the Olympian / Royal angle was covered.
I’d have preferred Big Nigel myself, the quintessential stereotypical northern man.

As a Wigan fan he might not of liked the prospect of handing a cup to the captain of either Leeds or Warrington.

He'd probably drop it under pressure or let it roll into touch.

| There are better choices out there but I don't think it's his fault he was chosen. Booing him would be poor form, he's not done anything wrong.
Wiggins would have been a much better choice though. Hell, almost any of our Team GB winners, the nation is riding high, they add instant legitimacy just being there.

No he isn't. He parted company with RBS in March.
