RL's a tough game played by tough men (and women!). I don't mind of two players square up to each. Enhances the spectacle and gives a boost to the energyin teh game often. They shouldn't ban players unless it is a cowardly attack.

Every game should have a little bit of biff in it if only to spice it up and lift the fans and atmosphere etc.

Don't mind a good dust up every now and again. It's inevitable in the heat of battle that someone is going to get riled and it'll all kick off. Nowt wrong with it, in my view and (unless someone takes a blind side cheap shot, or summat) should be dealt with by sin binnings and nothing more.

If two blokes are game then who cares?

Agree, some of the high horse attitudes on here are laughable

I wonder if any of those who are condeming the use of a scuffle have actually ever played rugby or simply spent their time sat comfortably on a sofa? If a bloke kept having sly digs at you without the referee noticing, would you just hold tight and do nothing and hope to get him back with a big tackle? Aim to be the bigger man or something?

To be honest I used to love it when the Hull derby would kick off on the pitch. The last season we played Hull in Div 1 (think 1997) there must have been at least one fight in 3 out of the 4 times we played them.

Can't think of one kick-off though since we've played them in SL, and put that down to the modern game and professionalism of the players.



As long as no-one gets really hurt I don't see the harm in the odd brawl and as said it definitely gets the crowd going in a big way, especially in a derby. When we shared our main stand with Hull back then the atmosphere would get even louder when Rob Wilson (usually) would get into a fight with a Duller.

Because if done correctly it is an art form and is extremely entertaining.

The odd rugby fight also doesn't do any harm, but UFC I just find really uncomfortable to watch, e.g. because you know the guy is legitimately getting beat up and probably seriously hurt.

Yeah, in RL I don't see the harm in the odd bit of real fighting on the pitch, but UFC is just wrong IMO.

No, that was an isolated incident which was caused by a number of factors, e.g. the Paul Cooke situation (at the time), bad stewarding and Hull fans invading the pitch.
