| Some posters on here are deluded - the top sides in SL would not be able to compete with the top sides in the NRL. The physical fitness, speed and power these sides possess would be far too much for any SL side add that the superior technical ability and you only have one possible outcome over a season - embarrassment.
Billy Slater plays in the best league in the world and performs to a high standard on a consistent basis - Tomkins plays in an inferior league at a significantly lesser standard, his performances towards the back enf of the season were average at best. Why anyone think he is a better player than Billy Slater!! The same can be said when comparing to Roby to Smith - simply different quality levels.
It is no surprise all the awards went to the NRL players; it is the best league with the best players.

Can't argue with that. Sadly the NRL is streets ahead of our game in every aspect.

What has the standard your team plays at got to do with how well you played, it is how the individual plays & the level that they achive in thier perfomance in the year, I would argue Rangi Chase performed heroics in a poor side & it was him that got Cas two or even three places higher than they would have. You can even argue that players in the lower divisions have played a greater part in thier sides season & carried thier teams whole season on thier efforts. Being a succsess is more than finishing on top it is about contibuting to the game & your team. But I would not expect the worshipers of everything Australian to agree.

It's not about worshipping everything Australian but the fact is the NRL is head and shoulders above superleague whichever way you look at it.

That is just an idiotic statement. Sam Tomkins is the best player in Super League by far.

Chase made his name against the poorer sides - his impact was significantly diminished when Cas came up against the better sides - the fact they didn't even make the play offs says much. Are you seriously suggesting a player from the NL could be crown world player of the year because his impact on his side was greater than a far superior player's impact on his?

| How is Jharal Yow Yeh considered a rookie? He played the entire 2010 season I'm sure and debuted in 2009.

People think because SL sides get up for a ONE OFF game, that our best are as good as there best. Over a full season I think the results would be telling.
There's 1, maybe 2, SL sides a year that are top 8 potential in NRL if you ask me

| The official criteria:
Quote Rookies are deemed to be players who were under 21 at the start of the voting period – October 4, 2010 to October 8, 2011 – and who made their full international debut in that time. No Super League players met the criteria for 2011 Rookie of the Year.'"
