Continuing performing how you are and the crowds will go up.



I do agree though that changing to Sunday will be a big boost. You will get a few walk ups, due to people been bored on a Sunday, Friday night you don't get this as people will be shattered from a weeks work and won't want to go watch a game of rugby on a Friday night.

I've stated in the past that I was concerned that senior people at the club seemed to be putting excessive faith in the "build it and they will come" philosophy and were assuming we'd be like Warrington and Hull despite the obvious and huge differences in the circumstances of our moves.



I hoped that we wouldn't be over relying on optimism to get the increased crowds, but I'm concerned that it does look like the case. Yes, we've recorded fairly decent increases on like for like fixtures from last year, but in both cases the away support has doubled on last year.



The grand talk ahead of the move was the raising of us from a locality based club to one drawing support from the wider conurbation, but the marketing push so far has appeared to be leaflet drops in the area near the stadium, an ad in the Advertiser (both happening very close to the game) and Facebook.

The Friday night/Sunday afternoon debate is a tough one. I know people who can't get to many home games due to the Friday nights, but also know people who wouldn't be able to go to every game if they were on Sundays. Away support would almost definitely go up on Sundays, but then the corporate side would suffer; and it's the corporate side why we have Friday nights as it is. We must make more money off the x number of corporates, rather than the 4000 regular fans.

Saints crowd dropped 2500 from our game there, and we only took 200 fans, so even a winning team is struggling to maintain its support on a Friday.

i think she fell out with another director who is still at the club so she wouldn't come back, but there is no reason as to why we can't use similar schemes just needs a personality to put some effort into it.

Can somebody explain to me why Friday nights are better for corporate than a Sunday afternoon,i just don`t get it.

Sunday games would attract much bigger crowds,friday nights are great cos i can have a good drink without worrying about work the next day!



Families simply cannot attend matches 8 o clock friday night! My little girl loves goin to see saford yet she is in bed every night at 7 o clock.My missus loves to come see salford,but she cant either she is at home with kids??? Same scenario for a LOT of people surely???

I'm affraid that two things need to be adressed at your new stadium. First the £5 car parking needs to be scrapped or make it £2. Second you need a second road that comes under the motorway straight past the sewage works into Eccles to cut out the motorway roundabout. This would make the journey much easier and ease the wait after the game. You can't charge £5 for parking only to be sat there for ages after the game and be parking on a mud field with shingle on it.

I park no where near the ground. It takes ten minutes to walk to the car and I am straight on the motorway but not everyone can or are prepared to walk so you have to get them closer to the stadium. The people who run these places really need to take a trip to the states and see how the paying customer gets treated.

Because you get them after work, still in work mode, wanting to end the week with a few sherbets. Sundays are for time with their families, not anything work-related.
