hi guys basically is there one if not whats the best station to go to in manchester for easy access

Well im going from birchwood to piccadilly,wing it from there probably a tram or summat dont really care just know il be there in time

Well i'm doing Newton-L-W to Manc Vic, but i'm going early and walking around town.

train to picadilly then metrolink/tram whatever its called to old trafford cricket ground

same as this going around 11:30ish

Get the tram to Exchange Quay and walk over the bridge. Sam Platt's is a sound place for a bevy between there and the ground and it's only a five minute walk up.



Much better drinking there than the places between the cricket ground and the football ground.



They serve cans at a little window right inside the front door so you can get a few and drink them outside if it's dry and you can't be bothered with the queues at the bar, and there's plenty of burger vans and the like around that side of the ground, plus obviously a few decent places at Salford Quays.



I'm hoping to be at Platt's for about 2-2.30ish.

Does the Metro now go to O/T ?

get a media city bound tram and get off at the salford quays

The Metrolink Altricham line has a station near the cricket ground.



The nearest Metrolink station Old Trafford football ground is Exchange Quay on the Eccles/Media City line.



Best station for joining from Warrington trains Metrolink is Deansgate

The Met always has gone to Old Trafford on the Alty line since it was built in about 1992. The stop is just next to the original Old Trafford (cricket ground).

Walk up the steps at Deansgate Stn, walk through/over the tunnel/bridge over the road to Deansgate-Castlefield Met Station, get Altrincham or Eccles Mets out of town.
