I've been watching since 1966 and can't remember doing the double over Wigan, Saints, and Leeds in the same season. In the pre 2/3 Division days we played 34 matches, but it wasn't home and away with some teams as there were 30 in the league.

I would think it will still be in Wigans cupboard on Friday, they will then dust it off, a little polish, then send it DHL to Halliwell Jones for presentation the following weekend to rapturous applause and few teary eyes.
38 years is a long flipping time to watch a club without league honours, we should congratulate ourselves as supporters that we have stuck it out and we should appreciate its significance ! anyone can support a winning team, its a bigger deal to support a losing team.

I don't really see that there's anything controversial involved in that. Wigan are the incumbent holders and both teams have the possibility of winning it. I don't have any problems with it personally. |
