What do people feel is wrong with Monas at the minute? I know he's been injured and had shoulder problems but he is a shell of his former self.

Too many guys are playing on last seasons reps, Monaghan being one of them.

Hes Had Double Knee surgery.. And Saints Trampled over the top of him for the first half an hour yesterday..

Could say the same of a few players that are temporarily out of form.... Woody, Carvell, Hodgson, Myler. But they'll all come good..... form is temporary, class is permanent.

He's out of form along with Wood and Carvell....It happens in sport.

Looked way off his best since the surgery (don't forget he had shoulder surgery in the off season), but he will come good

Got into the ground a little late last night, just in time to see Monaghan jogging back and to across the pitch whilst the others were using the tackle pads. When he finished his jog in front of the north stand he spoke with someone (physio?) and seemed to be limping slightly as he walked away. Lacking confidence and far from fit IMO.

Its not rocket science.



The guy isnt fit, largely due to all the surgery he's had since the end of last season.



Lets judge him when he's back to full fitness.



If anything it just shows how awful we are without a fully firing monas. He more than anyone makes us tick.



Forget all this crap about Briers. Monas is the man.

Might be ideal to leave Monas out on Thursday & use Higham & Dwyer .

Well if he's injured ,playing & taking more knocks won't do him any good !

If you're injured - and I think he is - you will continue to be injured if you keep playing. If anything you'll make it worse.



Getting him matchfit ready for Keighley and Castleford isn't the priority. The priority is making sure the injury has gone away and then using those games to get him match-fit for bigger games to come.

Monaghan is nearly 32. His attacking game is built on the his pace off the mark and little blokes struggle when they lose even a little bit of zip. He's still as clever/brave etc. but all the bangs take their toll. Hope I am very wrong!
