Don't the contracts typically run from November to November to ensure that the season is full completed before players actually transfer?
I am pretty sure he is not registered as a "warrington player" until the contract comes into force.
All depends on what you definitions were at the time of the bet. I think you should both agree to a "no bet" due to lack of clear definitions.
