I'd give Dwyer a go against Wakefield but not Wigan, I think he's still only 18.

Personally after last week i would drop Carvell, now don't get me wrong i'm not scape goating or anything and people are always going to have bad games BUT places should always be earned and dropping him for one game just to let him know that players have to perform to stay in side would be my style of management unless i wasn't left with any option but to play him.

What if Carvell has put in bare effort during training this week to make up for the poor performance? Do you then not pick him despite excellent training levels? What message does that send to him and other players? Poor performances happen every now and then, dropping a player on the basis of one, no matter how bad it is, is the wrong way to go about things. Consistently poor performances warrant a player being dropped, but Carvell has been consistently class since he came here, I don't think dropping a player of his quality and experience is the way to go, but who knows, you could be Tony's brother and the source of his greatness. |
