| Being a United fan you see this sort of stuff all of the time. Martin Tyler on Wednesday night was a the latest case in point.
You get to the point with all the moaning from opposition fans, that sometimes you want a winning goal to be unjust, just so you can laugh at their inevitable meltdown.
I'm half hoping for a last minute win against Wigan where Tompkins gets illegally smashed by Morley (who should have already been sent off) drops the ball, we pick it up and a forward pass later go under the sticks.
I think the viewers at home would see a breakdown in front of their eyes.

| Sorry but I'm going against the tide here, in the context of the moment I don't think he said it because he hates Wire or that any 'true feelings' were coming out, I just think he felt for them in that moment. People's partisan opinions seem to warp their reality.
It was a nothing moment for me

For reasons that I'm not going to go into, my son and I watched the game from the comfort of our sofa. We were unfortunately subjected to the most one sided, biased commentary we have ever heard. I could understand it had we finished top and we were playing the eighth placed team, and they were routing for the underdogs. But the commentary tonight was an absolute disgrace. Clarke was the only one who talked any sense, and it pains me to say so. We completely dominated the second half, they scored on their two excursions into our half, yet they were hard done by, and[u didn't get any of the ref's calls[/u. Bloody disgrace!'"
Sorry but I can’t agree this time, I really thought Hudds were badly done to much more than the Wire in this game. Having said that, Wire were well worth the win and whoever they play in the GF it should be a cracker, weather permitting lol.

| Wire seemed to play within themselves last night. The early taking of the lead by Hudds created the spark and we just held the game from there. The commentary is getting tedious to say the least. I was kind of shocked to hear Hemmings say what he did when Grix scored but thought no more of it after it happened but its the first ever time i've heard anything like it! Add to that, that i dont think he really hates us he is just a bit stupid

Agreed. I watched the game back and was amazed with the amount of praise we got, after reading this thread. The commentary team - perfectly reasonably - enjoy games that have a close finish and that are in doubt right up to the hooter. Grix's try virtually sealed the result, that was the reason I felt Eddie shouted ohh no. Sky give us loads of praise all the time - but even when they don't - so what?

Yet funnily enough almost every Liverpool and Man City fan I know is convinced United are the media darlings. This of course changes when you speak to United or Everton fans who are convinced Liverpool are the team that Sky adores. By no coincidence whatsoever both Liverpool and Man United fans seem to be convinced in equal measure that they are the ones that are hated the most.
There's absolutely nothing in it, just as there's absolutely nothing in this, other than people seeing what they want to see, blinded by their own loyalties.
The real idiots are the people who pay Rupert Murdoch ÂŁ25ish a month for a Sky Sports "product" that is freely available online then get worked up about the opinions of those whose wages they are voluntarily helping to pay.

| I think the fact they do us down is hilarious - we've gatecrashed the party, overtaken their beloved Saints, put plenty of noses out of joint along the way and done it with verve, audacity, skill, honesty, hard work and a hint of arrogance borne out of sheer ability.
Given SKY is in the entertainment business, viewers being entertained keeps the SL SKY team in a job and Wires are entertainment-personified they should be lauding us to the rooftops as evidence of what a wonderful game we have. If they are too short-sighted and brimming with resentment to see it, well tough - reach for the blood pressure pills or take up yoga Eddie, we kind of like this success lark thank-you.

| I agree that not having opportunity to blow smoke up the ass of Stains anymore, must really wind some of the Sky (and BBC) team up.
The bias shown to those bunch of ##### during they're heyday was sickening.

| I bet if you go on the Saints forum and ask them what they think of Sky's RL team they will say they are anti-Saints and pro-Wigan. The Wigan forum will say the opposite. If you go on any forum and ask those who watched last night if Sky were anti-Warrington they will not agree with you.
It's just daft. As I say, people see what they want to see.

| One that gets to me is the grief that Phil Clarke gets. If you listen to him, he is the one who gives us the most praise. Ok he does have a wigan bias but he doesn't deserve half the grief he gets at our home games. It makes me cringe every time he is given the abuse he gets.
Also after reading on here about the commentary i watched the match back expecting some real Huddersfield bias.....there wasn't ! Fuss about nothing.....
