I don't see the problem with the squad selection, every one of those players was a SL standard player, we could field an entirely different line up that would be equally good as we have got so much strength in depth now, we just had our asses handed to us by Salford playing well which happens to us at least once most seasons. Doesn't mean we won't smash Hudds and go to Wembley in a few weeks. Although I still hold we are not as good as the pies and may be in for losing both finals this year.

So its Myler and O Briens fault right lets get some SMITH OUT banners made and stage a Protest..

I agree with some of the points made in this thread, I think leaving so many strike players out was a mistake but as we all have been saying our squad depth is brilliant we should have beat them tonight even if it was by a point. Not sure the players on the field werent good enough just too many returning from long layoffs.

Maybe a bit of a wake up call for us to play with more intensity form early on instead of being so relaxed in the first 20-30 minutes as we have been so often this year.

I thought before tonights game that Rangi Chase would be a good signing. Watching our 2 superstar halves tonight he is now a must at any price. Agree with most on here, its all about the play offs, (think we learnt that last year), but also that starting line up is not far off what alot have been saying on here for weeks is our starting line up in the near future.

Taking nothing away from Salford they deserved it tonight, but if we can stronger in Sept/Oct then tonight will lose all importance!

Smith "rested" some of our "high reputation" players.....fair enough, we have to live with that.



I whole heartedly disagree with Smith brining THREE players who haven't played 1st team rugby in MONTHS, back in the same game. On this issue, Smith needs a ####ing. BAD TACTICS (imho)



BUT, let's face facts, every player (bar Currie) is not a "wet behind the ear" teenager, who's got little experience.

They've all been round the squad for at least 3 years, and for them ALL to turn up a "performance" like that, is unacceptable.

Blaming GO'B and Myler, is quite frankly, pathetic. We were mullered in the forwards, and our ball possession from 1-17, would make a 3rd division amateur side cringe.



We need a response next week. I trust some players may respond!!!!!!

Myler looked rusty but is to be expected after a lengthy lay off blaming the halves is scandalous they cant create without the ball and the forwards looked shameful tonight loosing collision and giving away penalties bring back the injured players slowly off the bench over a 3 or 4 week period of time as i don't think there are any 20's games for a while
