| It wont make any difference to the season as a whole. It may give them an extra boost in the first couple of games but by then they would have been up to pace even with an English pre season.
What it has done is vastly raised the profile and standing of the club and told everyone else where we are looking to go.

It's not that hard to understand. Pre-season is about fitness, conditioning (physical and mental) and skills (individual and team) work to prepare for the season ahead. Thus, surely it makes sense to be able to do all of that in the best conditions (and environment) as possible. This will maximise: time spent / quality of the work / motivation to perform.
I can't see the logic of putting up with second rate conditions if first rate ones are available?

| IIRC Saints did something similar during Daniel Anderson's reign in 2006 and look what happened!

I don't recall the Saints 1st team going to Oz. And a quick google reveals their 2006 pre-season trip was to Marbella. I think you are getting mixed up with the Academy going down under.

That's why i said something similar as we had a warm weather camp in the Med as already pointed out, Didn't go to the other side of the world although as has been mentioned that sport is predominantly excellent down under can only reap rewards later on

No mix up... it's why I said something similar and not exactly the same... i knew we went to the Med somewhere but my point is that we undertook warm weather training in 2006 and we won every trophy... the same could possibly happen for WWRFC

hmm, quite alot of clubs have been going on warm weather training for years. Prior to this year, we'd been going to Lanzarote for a week every January. Leeds and even Salford have been to Florida. Other clubs use Marbella. i.e. there was nothing special about what Saints did in 2006.

I think it was more how we utilised our warm weather training that year rather than the fact it was warm weather training, and I honestly think preparing yourself for a tough season against a very good, and youthful rabbitohs side should stand you in good stead for the season ahead, maybe a little slow to start, but i think warrington could be the juggernaut to crash the Grand Final party this year
