Maybe this focus on weights helps to prevent injury? Saints don't seem to be lucky with injurys?

That only started when we changed our conditioner, which suggests we have a crap conditioner, although the club don't see it that way obviously since we still have the same conditioner. When Apollo was in charge we just got the odd injury each season as you'd expect in a contact sport.

Yes he is back at Warrington, the St Helens coaching staff told me this when they were in Australia a few weeks ago.

Crikey, from what I've heard/read recently (apart from the overseas players we'll have), in 2015, we'll have a team running out at the HJ, all built like Frankenstein's monster, but with all the skills of Professor Steven Hawking.



Every club lets the odd one slip through the net...it's something we've (all) got to deal with.

I'd agree with all that Lefty. The fact is that we're starting to get it right all through the club. We appear to have the right staff at last and will benefit from it over the next few years.

Hasn't the problem with Warrington always been the number of days a week they train on at youth level? That was always the reason given a couple of years back when Saints poached their annual batch of Warrington youth.

One of Saints "selling points" to young players is their bi-annual tour to Australia. I'm not sure if they tell them that they have to pay for it themselves though until after they've signed.

No they don't, nor do they tell them that only a select few that sign on will be selected to go

Thing is though, if we have been getting it wrong all these years, then saints teams of recent years should have been packed with Warrington born lads. Name me 5.
