Quote Paul Youane="Paul Youane"Yet another example of Warrington's neglect of a home-grown Wally Lewis right under their noses.
Shocking by the club how they rely upon proven, experienced youth rugby scouts and coaches to assess the worth of schoolboys rather than rely upon the players' parents and mates. It really needs sorting out before we end up with an Academy team that tops the table.'"
Hells Bells. I know me and you have had our disagreements on here, over the last 18 months, but this post is spot on.
I know someone (Warrington fan) who's lad was on one of the club's youth schemes, and the club decided not to take this lad up to the next level. Cue the dad to dish out the usual (and this is practically verbatim) "Oh Warrington, clueless they are, bloody clueless, don't know what they're missing out on with 'em not signing our xxxxxx. Gone to Saints now. Top drawer I tell you, top bloody drawer. You should see their gym....awesome....knocks Warrington's into the shade. Train 'em proper an all, all ball skills, nowt else"
Crikey, from what I've heard/read recently (apart from the overseas players we'll have), in 2015, we'll have a team running out at the HJ, all built like Frankenstein's monster, but with all the skills of Professor Steven Hawking.
Every club lets the odd one slip through the net...it's something we've (all) got to deal with.
We've just won the LLS
Our lower level teams did well last year
And we've got an 8 page thread about some kids not being taken on
I'd hate to be Salford...I tell you
