Looks like the lad might be retiring at the end of this season.Can anyone confirm this?



Is there going to be any kind of send off for him? The last game is at home against Whitehaven so i think the least us fans can do is cheer him off the field.I know some love him, some hate him but he has been our only playmaker on the field and always shows up to pull on the Leigh shirt.

I too will join you in clapping Mr Watson off the field he has been a 100%er in all matches he has olayed for Leigh.

Me too - I know he's not everyone's cup of tea but he still deserves a good send off.

heard he was joining Swinton as ass coach/player.........will be missed as never gives less than 100% for us.

Me to i think we would have been in a worst state without him.

To right we would have been in a worse situation !I shall be among those who give him a huge thankyou for his 100% service to our club.

We've not scored many this season but nearly all the tries we did score came from Watto.

Me and Mrs Optimist will certainly applauding him off in his last game for the club. Ian is a true servant of Leigh and deserves recognition for all his efforts. We have also had the pleasure to spend some time in his company and have always found him to be pleasant and polite.

When he was with Fax the one season, no one could fault his commitment to the team.



On his day was/could be a good player.

Always a 100%-er for Salford too, and a thoroughly nice bloke.



Still see him around every now and again, would be quality for Swinton in NL2 if that is where he ends up.



Sure he'd have a lot to offer as a coach too.

I'm sure he will have plenty to offer if he drops down a division next season..

Top bloke and a real grafter,always had that aggression that little players always seem to have.His strong point was his defence and kicking game think most teams score on the side watto is not defending on.Also played well at hooker for Wales.
