The Watcher believes is reduction in the number of MPs is well over due. Every other "industry" has had to reduce its workforce to save money & become more efficient so why not the free loading money grabbers at Westminster.

No offence lads, but who gives a **** about constituency boundaries ?

Could this open the door for Leigh to have a real shout in the future to regain its borough status?.if not then what does it matter?.

The Watcher believes the answer is "The Boundary Commission for England". Is he correct.

Electorial boundries are usually changed by a party in power to make sure they stay in. The last Tory government did it as soon as they got into power. Thanks Thatcher. Never mind having too many MPs Watcher you will be moaning when you have no one to represent you. These things are done to manipulate the vote not to save us money. Also the public sector is in for one massive upheavel and this could be part of the governments stratergy to combat it's effects. As a trade union member myself I hope the public sector workers bring this shower of s down. Non of us should be paying for the cities behaviour but we are and they are trying to make us pay for the lot. Up the workers. Rant over.

While we are having personal off-topic rants - I am not a union member and I think all trade unions should be abolished - they serve no useful purpose whatsoever in a modern society as far as I can see.

No idea. I've no real interest in the matter beyond wondering why anyone else has any interest in the matter.

It's not an off topic rant Map it's all connected. Just like I said to Watcher, when they are gone you will be sorry and the only way you will be able to turn to put your point across will be violent because you will have to counter the violence from the powers that be. I used to go to a Budist retreat near Ulverston and was sort of taught their gentle ways but even they had to resort to violence in their homelands because thats all they had left after being made to have it for too long. Representation is a very important thing for the working man and woman and should not be lost.

The Unions crippled our country in the 70's. They drove global companies out of our country who wouldn't be held to ransom by the unions. It took a lot of hard work by Lady Thatcher to entice brands like Toyota, Nissan and Honda to invest in our country. I hope the current coalition come down hard on any civil unrest caused by the trouble making unions this winter. I would certainly encourage the deployment of troops on the streets with live weapons to restore any unrest. Zero tolerance on these communist types would certainly stop anything getting out of hand and destroying our image as a welcoming, flexible country to do business in.

But would you if your vote meant absolutely nothing. Which is what is happening election after election.
