Think it has been reported that the club have no further funds for players - could the fans or LISA step in? Maybe work in conjunction with the club or the business club?



I know there are diff views on this but for me we need to get a GF appearance or a NR Cup final win so that we can apply for SL - the club surely aspires to be in SL.



If Millward wishes to sign a further player then we need to support him so that we have the best chance of ticking the box - if we don't then i fear for are future, we may regret not making the most of this opportunity.



Maybe if the corporate club or the club themselves offered to double what fans donated we could sign one/two other players.

ATM LISA only have enough members to cover the part of Donlans contract we pay.

More members means yes we could look at sponsering another player, the corporate club are also sponsering R Bibey and R Paul so their commitment is huge too, so its down to the more fans coming through the turnstyles and more people joining either LISA or the CORPORATE CLUB.

I think we could say Tuesday was a bumper crowd (tho Fev brought a good following). Who thinks the game/evening would encourage them others to go again? I know we lost but I enjoyed the game, and thought atmosphere was good too.

Don't most of our players have 'proper' day jobs?



Not to sure evening games and part time rugby is best on regular basis, we've had that for the last four games now, what other reason could there be that we lost?

LISA has a couple of hundred members, the CC is heavily committed.

Those that contribute to neither need to get together if they want to fund a contract instead of waiting for somebody else to cough up.

Come to the fore someone, actions will speak louder than words.

1000 fans not in the above coughing up £20 will get a great player for the rest of the year.

I don't work but I would like to contribute something if possible/affordable so is it £20 a month or a one off payment that will do?

Perhaps Lisa could set up a seperate bank account to enable individual fans to contribute whatever sum they can afford with a view to financing future signings. Payments would all be one off but there would be nothing to stop individual fans contributing more than once.

This would be down to the LISA treasurer in the first instance and the money raised would have to be ring fenced and not in the general LISA pot.

You are asking LISA to make it happen, it must be someone else for it to work.

Linda mentioned squadbuilder recently. It needs someone to talk to Basil to ascertain is there a player he can get and what the cost is, if we have room on the salary cap then get the flatcaps passed round.

Supporting basil to support trhe team becomes the motivation, its something new without baggage.

I don't mind asking him as I see him quite frequently, but I will need some sort of 'declaration' of intent, my £20 is declared as a one off payment but it would take more than those on here (most of whom I would guess are LISA members (?) or am I being over optimistic?

regarding raising money for players Fred you know more than me on how this works & can speak to the right people so maybe you can start a thread along the line of "I pledge to support our players with a £20 donation for existing & new players" Try to get the ball rolling I'm behind it lets try & get everyone else behind it too
