Another sad day for the club

What would it involve?

Making sure the volunteer table is manned every home game (means you miss the reserve game and the Jester bar lunch)

Making sure there are enough raffle ticket people prior to the game

Organising the sales of raffle tickets with the dancers before the game

Walking the board around with the raffle ticket number on (Missing the chance of getting a drink at half time)

Missing the beginning of the game because you are counting money

Getting the money to the club during the week after the game

Getting information out to the fans

Writing a page for the programme and having the unenviable task of trying to get new information and news.

Conveying complaints from the fans to the management.

Regret to say that QuinsRL like the BroncosRL before them seemingly does it's best to 'screw' anyone and everyone who ever 'offers to help'. Sorry, Petra, think that the new GM needs to think long and hard about how the Club needs to work and support it's fans otherwise he will never be able to 'increase' the fan base but rather it will really start to 'bleed' away.

I'd love to help out but don't think I'm the best candidate, at least not this season as I have just got the jexters club pass, and I'm trying to bring a few friends to games as well.



I will try to do some more volunteering though, I'll do some raffle tickets before the Celtic game if you need me Briali.

I read that thread before I knew Alison had stepped down, I actually thought she as asking for some more help for the club, as she always has done.



Now I understand what is going on, I think this is a terrible loss for the club, Alison did this job fantastically with the resources she had.



I apologise for posting what I did because now I realise I seemed very insensitive, but my intentions were only good.

as well as what is mentioned previously there is also a lot of work to cover for the LWRC. I started preparation for this last week and it needs to be picked up along with the other voluntary chores. Unfortunately no one came forward when I advertised of help as everyone is busy doing other things. No that is not a critisism as I have always said voluntary means just that and some people have more constraints on their time than others and some live too far away, others work shifts etc etc. I will be honest and say whoever takes it on will really need to put a lot of time into it. BBQ preparation and cash for raffle to be added to the lsit.

Very sad day indeed. This club needs to take a long, hard look at itself. Maybe they fought behind the scenes to stop the fixture change (I doubt it), but they could at least have announced it in a much more sensitive fashion. I see there's still just a pathetic news article, acting as if this was no more than a minor change of detail. If I wasn't already too lazy to help the club, unlike certain heroes like Ali and co, I'd stop now too. Ahem.
