I'd like to see the whole game played in sync, after all we now market the game as a summer sport. Plus I'd imagine it'll be a lot easier to get new people playing the game in the sunshine and warmth as opposed to the rain and cold.
I really think a move such as this would really benefit the sport greatly, of course they'd be a few problems along the way but in the end it'd be worth it.

I think if they're serious about summer rugby they should ditch early Feb starts to the season. The season needs to be shorter anyway given the demands on the top players.

Yeah, with luck we'll eventually get to a situation where we actually only play one game per season.
Obviously, the clubs would need to stay afloat, but new ticket prices of about £200 each should resolve that.
Might seem a bit harsh on the fans, but at least the demands on the top players will be significantly reduced. |

From a personal point of view I welcome this and hope it goes through even if it means I will probably end up unable to play, due to family commitments in the summer.
Everything about our game is best coached, played and watched in the dryer conditions, we would also be able to hopefully attract more union converts to at least give the game a go.
Great move and its daft that it has taken so long to come into line.

Summer rugby for the junior game would be incredible - a lot of football teams don't play during the summer giving youngsters a lot more oppurtunity to play RL.

Completely agree, they need to cut short the season by a few weeks at least. Its a joke that the NRL starts the same weekend as we play round 5... |
