I think he is far more affective when he plays at 6. He is in the game a lot more in attacking plays and not simply returning the ball in defensive situations.



Even playing at 6 he could hit the line just as he does at 1.



Madge seems to prefer him at 1 but teams have spotted this and are now marking out / targetting him with their kicking game to tire him out.



However, if sam played at 6 who would be our best halfback pairing?

A quick burst of speed is more devastating close to the opposition try line. At Full Back Sam has 80 + yards to run. Sams strength is his broken field play and linking up with the threequarter line. He gets less chance of that at Full Back.



Still the same is true of all our backs isn't it ? None of them know from one week to the next which position they will play.

Get him and finch at 6 & 7 and let them form a partnership.

Get SAMs hands on the ball and allow Roberts to do his damage from 1

Fullback for me, and I wont be swayed from that because of one poor team performance against Wire. Darren Lockyer and the way he moved from FB to SO should be a basis for the way Wigan manage Sam's development.



Having said that, were Amos to rediscover his early 2010 form then he'd be my FB. But I've seen little to suggest he will.

as an outsider, i'd say back to 6, i don't think you guys play the same way we do with bringing hodgson up, as said above i don't think sam suits that style of play, or role from FB.
