I have to say, I am very pleased by this news.

this also points towards Phelps being the quota player released next year to stay with the quota reduction in the cap.



However, does this point towards Bailey not being retained? Surely if these two were announced now wouldn't his as well?





Good move though in my opinion, Coley has been a good prop this year, some say he's just been playing for a new contract, if so he'll have to keep it up and do it again next year.



Phelps is a more than useful fullback, very good attacking-wise and seems to have improved his dodgy tackling technique in defence.





If someone with more time than me can work out where this would leave us regards to how many quota/federation trained players we can have next year.....

Both sensible moves imo.

Smart move as theyvare both in good form. Coley will offer us good cover between the prop and 2nd row positions which can't be bad.

If we do not resign Bailey does it pave the way for 2 overseas players for next year.



The Prop if a visa is granted is done, but could this open a spot for the overseas half?



Seems to me Coley resigning does mean a possible end to baileys Wigan career but who knows, i always assumed it would be either/or.



You would assume Phelps and Carmont will drop from the squad for 2011.
