| I bought some Jacob's Cheeselets in a can yesterday. They are much skinnier and more flaky than they used to be. I remember when they were thicker and a darker colour, and probably less salty.
What other foodstuffs have you bought that just isn't the same as it was 'in the old days' ?

| Slightly OT, but what has happened to Seabrooks crisps?
The prawn cocktail ones used to be bright pink and would take a layer of skin of your mouth there was that much salt and flavoring on them.
No they are all pale and tasteless.
Sad times indeed

| I love my food, I love cooking as well..!
I recently banned supermarket meat from our house (Asda is the worst), tasteless watered down crap, full of fatty chunks...regardless of what you buy.
We started going to the butchers for our meat on a weekly basis......bloody awesome! A little bit dearer but the quality is superb, plus once you go a few times your butcher gets to know you and 'you get a bit extra' for your money. It pays to be cheeky with them, ask if they have any deals that week....!! We got 22 massive chicken breasts for £28, froze them and it lasted most of the month!!
I watched a documentary a while back, stated approx 100 butchers are shutting up shop every week due to supermarkets.....I can't rate them highly enough (and no I'm not one touting for business, haha)!

This 100 times. We either go to the village butchers, who to be fair is a bit more expensive than most butchers. Or to Preston indoor market. There's a stall in there that does amazing meat and it doesn't work out much more than the supermarkets at all.
