Seeing as we've had threads regarding MOS contenders I thought we might as well all air our views on who we feel could win young player of the year.



From a Wigan perspective Farrel and Tuson have stood up well, but I just don't feel they've made as big as impact as other juniors at other clubs. Liam Watts has looked good for me at Hull KR and assuming he's eligible then he'd be my pick. Another contender would be Whitehead at the Bull's, but I think their current position and form could count against him though.



I know there's plenty more youngsters in SL but no others really spring to mind so my money would be on Watt's followed by Whitehead.

How old is Briscoe?

I don't know how old he is but I think he's played to many games prior to this season to be considered under the rules.

At Wigan, Liam Farrell and Chris Tuson have been great.



I've always thought Farrell would break through and impress but I've always questioned whether Tuson would succeed at Super League level. Well, it's great to see that he's totally proving me wrong.



I've been impressed with Jamie Foster, Jonny Lomax and Elliott Whitehead too.

how olds Ben jones-bishop as been great for the quins.

Isn't Sam Tomkins about 20? Can't see how you can look past him if so.

Isn't there some sort of threshold regarding games played which would rule him out?

I think that relates to RL Express' "Young Gun" award that limits it to those who have played less than 10 first team games prior to the start of the season.



Not sure what the parameters are for the official RFL one but I'd go for Liam Watts from Hull KR. To put in the level of performance he has in the front row for a team like Hull KR at 19 years of age deserves the award (have a look at his stats compared to say Coley, Paul Wood, etc).



Others worthy of consideration would be the obvious Tomkins and Eastmond but also Ben Harrison should be in with a shout.

He's 22, too old to be considered IMO.
