One of the finest centres to grace the game in this country. He came to us as a Newcastle Knights reject - and thank goodness for that. They have floundered whilst we have profited from his skilful play. A true modern day legend. We cannot thank him enough.

In all seriousness, anyone who knows me will know how much I love George. The guy has just gone from strength to strength and the fact that Pat has had his best years at Wigan whilst playing outside him is no coincidence. He's one of those centres that creates so much time and space for his winger that you could put a guy on a mobility scooter outside him and he'd score tries. You really could count on one hand the number of bad games the guy has had in a Wigan shirt and he will take some replacing. A great signing, a great player and as others have said a great guy when you speak to him as well.

You know you've done well as a Wigan Rugby player when in five seasons you have defied any criticism from supporters. (Even the greats Edwards, Hanley, Farrell..etc, got it at some point). Wigan fans are famous for being loyal but very critical on performance (some would even say fickle).



At 34, to be asked to do yet another "one more year George" is as flattering as you could get, and fully deserved.



Compared to Vaelikki, he came in around a fifth of the price and has given back an infinite amount in quality play more.

Very good centre and a great servant to the club.
